Why the UK buys Brazilian sugar
The UK has long-standing cane-refining capacity and a large food-manufacturing sector, and London remains a major commodity trading centre. Between refiners buying raw feedstock, industry buying refined sugar, and traders sourcing for onward supply, the UK is an active, English-language market for Brazilian origin.
Grade fit
Refiners import VHP raw sugar (ICUMSA 600–1200) as feedstock; food manufacturers, packers and traders import refined ICUMSA 45. We supply both.
Ports & delivery
Cargo loads at Santos or Paranaguá and ships CFR or CIF to UK ports such as Felixstowe, London Gateway, Tilbury or Liverpool — in bulk vessels or containers.
Post-Brexit rules to confirm
Since Brexit the UK runs its own tariff schedule and an autonomous tariff-rate quota (TRQ) for raw cane sugar. Confirm the applicable duty and quota position with your customs agent before contracting; we provide the full export document set for clearance.
