How to Import Brazilian Sugar into the Gulf & MENA
Why the Gulf & MENA import Brazilian sugar
With limited local production, the Gulf states, Algeria, Egypt and neighbouring markets import refined and raw sugar in volume. The UAE (Jebel Ali) is a leading re-export gateway, distributing refined sugar across MENA, the Levant and East Africa. Brazil is a competitive origin on price and shipping.
Grade fit
Consumption and food-industry demand is for refined ICUMSA 45 (colour ≤ 45 IU). Regional refineries also take VHP raw sugar. Both are available.
Halal & documentation
Halal assurance is often required across MENA. Cane sugar is inherently halal, and we arrange halal-relevant documentation plus SGS/Intertek inspection at loading, together with the certificate of origin and health/phytosanitary certificates.
Ports, delivery & re-export
Cargo loads at Santos or Paranaguá and typically ships CIF to hubs such as Jebel Ali or Jeddah, or to North African ports for Algeria and Egypt. For re-export operations in the UAE, we can structure recurring supply to feed onward distribution.
