Why Indonesia imports Brazilian sugar

Indonesia's domestic production doesn't meet demand, so its refineries import large volumes of raw cane sugar to process into white sugar for a market of over 270 million people. Brazil is a competitive, reliable origin for this feedstock.

Grade fit: VHP for refineries, ICUMSA 45 for industry

Refineries buy VHP raw sugar (ICUMSA 600–1200) as feedstock. Food manufacturers and distributors buy refined ICUMSA 45 where import rules allow. We can quote either.

Halal & documentation

In a Muslim-majority market, buyers may require halal assurance. Cane sugar is inherently halal, and we arrange halal-relevant documentation and independent inspection (SGS / Intertek) at loading alongside the certificate of origin and health/phytosanitary certificates.

Ports, delivery & permits

Cargo loads at Santos or Paranaguá and ships CFR or CIF to Indonesian ports such as Tanjung Priok or Surabaya. Sugar imports are permit-regulated — secure your import permit / recommendation before contracting, as it governs volume and timing.
