How to Import Brazilian Sugar into Bangladesh
Why Bangladesh imports Brazilian sugar
Bangladesh has minimal domestic cane production relative to demand, so its large private refineries import raw sugar to process into white sugar for a market of over 170 million people. Brazil's scale and competitive pricing make it a recurring origin.
Grade fit
Refineries import VHP raw sugar (ICUMSA 600–1200) as feedstock. Where consumption-ready sugar is needed, we supply refined ICUMSA 45 (colour ≤ 45 IU).
Ports & delivery
The main gateway is Chattogram (Chittagong). Cargo loads at Santos or Paranaguá and typically ships CFR (or CIF), so the seller arranges ocean freight to the discharge port.
Documentation & payment
Shipments carry the full document set — commercial invoice, bill of lading, certificate of origin, SGS/Intertek inspection and health/phytosanitary certificates. Payment is secured by DLC or SBLC under UCP 600, with funds released against compliant shipping documents.
