How to Import Brazilian Sugar into Australia
Why Australia buys Brazilian sugar
Australia exports raw cane sugar from Queensland, but it still imports refined sugar and specialty grades for parts of the market, and Australian traders source globally for domestic supply and Pacific re-export. Brazil is a competitive, reliable origin.
Grade fit
Demand is mainly for refined ICUMSA 45. We can also supply VHP raw sugar where required.
Biosecurity & import permits
Australia enforces some of the world's strictest biosecurity controls. Sugar imports require compliant documentation and may need an import permit and quarantine clearance. Confirm requirements with the Australian authorities early — we provide the full document set (certificate of origin, SGS/Intertek inspection, health/phytosanitary certificates).
Ports & delivery
Cargo loads at Santos or Paranaguá and typically ships CIF to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, in containers or bulk depending on volume.
